Liquid Stamping - a new level of packaging embellishment

What is Liquid Stamping?

Liquid Stamping is our proprietary name for this technology and a new stage in premium packaging embellishment. It combines foil stamping, embossing, and Cast & Cure holographic effects into one integrated process. This makes it possible to create three-dimensional structures and micro-details with deep shine and strong visual impact.

The process does not require dies, which allows for highly precise and efficient execution — even for short production runs.

Liquid Stamping is particularly well suited to premium packaging, where exceptional visual appeal matters most, including cosmetics, perfumery, and other high-end products.

How does the Liquid Stamping process work?

To better understand the unique effect of this method, it is worth looking at its key stages:

UV adhesive application – a special adhesive is applied in the desired pattern to the sheet surface (up to B1 format).
Foil application – a foil carrying metallic pigment (gold, silver, coloured, or holographic) is applied to the freshly coated sheet.
UV curing – once exposed to UV light, the pigment remains only in the adhesive-coated areas, creating the final effect in a single pass through the machine.

The result is a sheet with metallic shine, precise lines, and microscopic details, ready for further processing.

What effects can be achieved?

Liquid Stamping makes it possible to create a wide range of decorative effects:

Hot foil effect (die-free) – subtle raised foil decoration without the use of dies, with line widths as fine as 0.1 mm.
3D hot foil effect – an embossing-like effect created by a varnish layer beneath the foil.
Spot UV – selective UV varnishing with gloss and matte contrast.
3D Spot UV – glossy varnish creating a raised effect.
Cast & Cure – a holographic structure with spatial, dynamic shine.

These effects can be combined within a single design, creating compositions that enhance brand identity and help products stand out on the shelf.

Benefits of Liquid Stamping technology

  • No dies required – faster production setup
  • Excellent precision for micro-details and very fine lines
  • Combination of shine, relief, and holographic effect in a single pass
  • Three-dimensionality that adds depth and a sense of movement to packaging
  • Available also for shorter runs thanks to a simplified process

Liquid Stamping is a solution created for brands that want their packaging to tell a story through its appearance alone.

Limitations of Liquid Stamping technology

Although Liquid Stamping delivers exceptional visual effects and precise detailing, like any technology, it also has certain limitations.

The foil colour range is limited to selected metallic shades such as gold, silver, and holographic variants.
The 3D effect involves a slight foil elevation — a characteristic feature of this technology, especially visible in side lighting.
Uncoated substrates are not recommended, as they may not provide sufficient pigment adhesion.

Despite these limitations, Liquid Stamping remains one of the most versatile and visually striking packaging embellishment methods currently available on the market.

Cast & Cure – a premium holographic effect

Cast & Cure is a distinctive part of Liquid Stamping technology. It involves applying a pattern to a fresh varnish layer and then curing it with UV light. The film transfers only the structure and does not adhere to the surface itself.

This creates a holographic pattern that reflects light at different angles, producing a sense of depth and movement. It is not only decorative, but can also serve as an additional product security feature.

Liquid Stamping combines efficiency, precision, and functionality, opening up entirely new possibilities in packaging design. If you would like to learn more about how our technology can transform the appearance of your products, visit intropak.pl or get in touch with us.
