Automatic die-cutting machines
Automatic die-cutting machines – fast, precise cutting in large B1 format
We operate three large-format automatic die-cutting machines with a sheet cleaning section and embossing capability in B1 format. We work with a wide range of substrates: from low grammages, through solid board, to selected plastics. This allows us to efficiently produce premium-quality individual packaging.
What are cutting dies?
A cutting die is a tool with cutting and creasing knives mounted in a plate, usually made of plywood. We outsource the production of cutting dies to our trusted partners.
A cutting die is created based on a dieline — a technical drawing of the packaging structure. A well-designed dieline ensures clean edges, precise creases, and easy folding, which translates into a smooth production process for individual packaging and premium packaging.
What does automatic packaging die-cutting involve?
Feeding and positioning – Printed sheets are automatically picked from the pallet and positioned in grippers so that they align perfectly with the cutting die.
Die-cutting and creasing – Under high pressure, the previously prepared cutting die cuts out the packaging shape along its outline while marking the fold lines. In the same operation, we can also emboss simple elements, such as a logo or frame, to enhance the premium effect.
Stripping – This section removes unnecessary waste elements. As a result, we optimize the further sheet-cleaning process before the next production stages.
Delivery – The cut blanks are stacked evenly on the other side of the machine.
Each packaging design requires ordering a cutting die, but it is worth remembering that the tool is reusable. This means you only bear the cost once, and for subsequent reprints of the packaging, we can streamline the production process. As a result, your product maintains identical dimensions and quality — exactly as in the previously approved prototype.
Note: even a slight change in dimensions requires ordering a new tool.
Dieline preparation process:
1. We draw the dieline.
2. We cut the prototype on a plotter to check the fit.
3. We send the mock-up to the Client.
4. After approval, we order the cutting die and start production.
